Sunday Jazz in the Park is a free, family-friendly community concert series presented by Music4Unity and held on the fourth Sunday of every month at Memorial Park in Downtown Stuart. Each event features a relaxed afternoon of music beginning with two hours of curated jazz, soul, and feel-good grooves by our very own DJ Celo, followed by a one-hour live performance spotlighting talented local and regional artists. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs, settle in, and enjoy high-quality music in a welcoming outdoor setting. Sunday Jazz in the Park is all about connection, creativity, and community β bringing people together through the shared joy of music.
The Sunday Jazz in the Park music series began as a culmination of a frequent music event during my teenage years and my love of scenic places- especially sunsets on water.
On various Sundays, growing up in East Stuart, local DJ Donnie Cook would play music at the Civic Center. The music was at a festival level. The whole neighborhood could hear the music! Young and old would come out to hang, laugh and dance. It made an indelible mark on me.
As a teenager, I would often spend my Sundays listening to relaxing music (Jazz and R&B) while looking through magazines & newspapers that had beautiful architecture and scenic photographs. I often (with my Walkman) would walk down to the local rivers to listen to music and catch the sunsets.
I yearned for something like this as an adult for many years- no one ever did it, so I created it. Good music, a relaxing vibe and a great scenic location.-
